You’ll need to multiply the current monthly return x 12 to get the annual return, currently running darn close to 1.0%. The Prism Daily: Thu, Sep 20, 2012
The Great Recession was declared dead in 2009. But was it? Or did it continue to roam the land like an economic zombie in search of more victims? We are strongly persuaded, Dear Reader, that the recession never did end; that we’re still in the early innings of what one day will become known as the Greater Depression. From CBS we read…

Median Income Worse Now Than During Great Recession
“… the recovery is the ‘most negative for household income during any post-recession period in the past four decades,’ which means that the median household income has not risen above a previous peak over the past 12 years… like an unwelcome dinner guest who does not know when it is time to leave, the Great Recession seems blissfully unaware that it was declared over in June 2009.”

Median household income has not risen in 12 years. Doesn’t that say it all? And where will people find the wherewithal to increase household income when jobs are scarce? Anyone with funds rotting away in a money market account or bank CD would be wise to put at least some of those funds to work. Our first suggestion would always be to commit 10%-15% to precious metals as a hedge against the inevitable future depreciation of the dollar. Our second suggestion would be to get proactive with a modest piece of investable funds and find someplace where you can grow them at rates of return that will hugely outpace inflation and allow you to actually get ahead.
